Technical Artist

Scopely is looking for a Technical Artist to join The Looney Tunes team in Bangalore on a hybrid basis! This role requires a blend of artistic and technical skills to build and integrate visual effects, optimize performance, and support the art and programming teams. You will design and implement visual effects (VFX) for character animations, home screens, UI elements, and battle backgrounds using Unity. Your responsibilities will include participating in daily stand-up meetings, brainstorming, and technical sync-up meetings, developing new features for existing technologies, and improving the efficiency of the content creation pipeline. As a Technical Artist, you will identify, troubleshoot, and resolve integration and performance issues in the game, develop prefabs for VFX in collaboration with animation and 3D teams, and analyze and optimize game performance using Unity Profiler. You will work closely with departments such as programming and design to ensure the seamless integration of artistic elements and technical functionality. We are looking for someone with 3+ years of experience as a technical artist, proficiency in the Unity game engine, including experience in Particles, Unity UI, and 3D rendering pipelines. You should have a strong understanding of particle systems, optimization, profiling, as well as proficiency in Blender, Unity, and Photoshop. Basic knowledge of 3D concepts, texture creation, and ability to build and integrate particle effects using custom shaders is required. Knowledge of GitHub for version control, experience with mobile optimization and advanced profiling techniques, and familiarity with Houdini and Substance Designer is a plus.
