Tech lead- Backend

What You ll Do

• Lead the design and architecture

  of scalable, secure microservices using Java Spring Boot and/or Python.
• Own and evolve our

  distributed systems

  integrating

  Kafka

  ,

  Redis

  ,

  PostgreSQL/MySQL

  , and

  MongoDB

  .
• Define and implement

  robust data models

  for financial workflows and climate-impact use cases.
• Build and improve

  asynchronous, event-driven systems

  to support real-time transactions and climate-impact analytics.
• Drive

  performance, latency, and reliability optimizations

  across services and data pipelines.
• Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to define architecture and deliver

  business-critical features

  .

• Mentor and guide junior engineers

  , conduct technical reviews, and establish best practices.
• Lead

  code reviews, architecture discussions, and system design

  sessions.
• Bring a

  product mindset

  own features end-to-end from ideation and design to deployment and monitoring.

Required Skills

• 5-7 years

  of backend development experience, including experience owning modules or leading projects.

• B.Tech/M.Tech

  from IIT/IIIT/NIT or engineers from high-quality product companies (preferred, not mandatory).
• Proficient in

  Java (Spring Boot)

  and/or

  Python

  .
• Strong in

  Data Structures & Algorithms

  .
• Solid understanding of

  Operating System fundamentals

  , memory management, and networking basics.
• Strong knowledge of

  SQL

  and relational database design.
• Hands-on experience with

  NoSQL databases (MongoDB)

  .
• Experience with

  microservices architecture

  and

  async programming

  .
• Exposure to distributed systems using

  Kafka

  .
• Understanding of

  caching strategies

  using Redis.
• Comfortable with

  Git, CI/CD

  , and

  cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure)

  .
• Ability to

  break down complex problems

  , make sound technical decisions, and drive them to execution.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in

  fintech, payments, or regulated environments

• Knowledge of

  security best practices

  (OAuth2, JWT, encryption).
• Familiarity with

  containerization

  (Docker, Kubernetes).
