Tech Lead (Backend)

As an experienced Backend Developer with a strong background in JVM languages, particularly Kotlin, you will play a crucial role in our mission to simplify the CFO stack for fast-growing businesses. Your responsibilities will involve leading design, planning, and estimation discussions within the team and with partners from various departments, aligning technical solutions with business requirements and architectural standards. Your role will also encompass facilitating requirement gathering, translating complex business needs into technical specifications, and overseeing project and technical documentation. Your expertise will be instrumental in identifying and mitigating risks throughout the software development life cycle, offering solutions to complex problems, and establishing coding, testing, debugging, and implementation standards. You will be expected to provide technical leadership, mentor mid-level developers, analysts, and graduates, and guide documentation efforts while maintaining on-call rotations and leading post-mortems to enhance system performance, scalability, and reliability. Your qualifications should include a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in backend technologies, with a focus on Java/Kotlin and unit testing practices. You should possess demonstrated leadership and project management skills, clear communication abilities, and experience in building RESTful APIs and (micro)services using frameworks like Spring Boot. Additionally, familiarity with cloud technologies, preferably Azure, and modern software architecture patterns is essential. You should have a desire to share knowledge, coach team members on coding practices, design principles, and implementation patterns, and adapt quickly to changing priorities and conditions. Your ability to choose suitable technologies and approaches based on long-term goals, maintain high standards of personal and team performance, and work collaboratively in a dynamic environment will be highly valued. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably from a reputable institution, will be required for this role. Experience with relational databases, such as Postgres, will be beneficial in executing your responsibilities effectively.
