Job Description

Role & responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Lead Database Engineer to lead the design, development and maintenance of our company's databases. The Senior Lead Database Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the performance, security and integrity of our databases, as well as providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Lead the design, development and maintenance of databases
Ensure the performance, security and integrity of databases
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
Collaborate with other departments to gather requirements and provide solutions
Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures
Monitor and optimize database performance
Identify and resolve database-related issues
Keep up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends

Key Skills:

Strong knowledge of SQL and database management systems such (PostgreSQL preferred).
Experience with database security, backup and recovery procedures
Familiarity with Cloud Database service like AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL.
Familiarity with distributed SQL databases (YugabyteDB preferred)
Strong understanding of data modeling and data warehousing concepts
Experience with NoSQL databases like Aerospike/Cassandra/Couchbase
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
