Team Leader ( Water Management & Sewerage System Expert)

• Position: Team Leader Used Water Management & Sewerage System Expert
  Experience:15–20years, At least 7–10 years in a Team Leader or Senior Expert role.
• Qualification: Minimum Masters in Environmental Engineering / Public Health Engineering
• Location: Karnataka mostly operating from Bengaluru, visit to sites across Karnataka)

We are looking for an accomplished full time Team Leader and Technical Expert in Used Water Management and Sewerage Systems to head a multidisciplinary consultancy/project management team of about 90 professional staff in Karnataka for one of the biggest PDMC services for Used Water Management project. The role requires in-depth expertise in hydraulic and process engineering of wastewater treatment and sewerage systems, along with proven leadership in planning, designing, client management and supervising urban used water infrastructure projects.

Expected to perform following Responsibilities

a. Lead the overall planning, design, and implementation of used water management projects under SBM 2.0 and NGT funds.

b. Provide strategic direction, technical guidance, and quality assurance throughout project lifecycle.

c. Coordinate with client (KUIDFC) and other stakeholders such as  KUWSDB, ULBs, KSPCB, contractors for smooth project execution.

d. Apply advanced knowledge of hydraulic and process engineering in the design of sewer networks, pumping stations, and wastewater treatment plants (conventional & nature-based).

e. Review and validate DPRs, detailed designs, and drawings for sewerage and STP projects.

f. Ensure designs comply with national/international standards, CPHEEO Manual, BIS codes, and KSPCB norms.

g. Provide solutions for land constraints, technology selection (conventional/DEWATS/hybrid), and cost optimization.

h. Lead and mentor a team of engineers, planners, and field experts.

i. Ensure timely deployment and coordination of key technical staff.

j. Build capacity within the team on innovative and sustainable wastewater management solutions.

k. Represent the project in high-level meetings, technical committees, and review missions.

l. Liaise with government authorities, donor agencies, and funding institutions.

m. Ensure transparent reporting and documentation of project progress.

n. Develop monitoring frameworks, progress reports, and compliance documentation for client submission.

o. Ensure timely delivery of milestones as per contract.

p. Support bid evaluations, contractor selection, and dispute resolution as required.

Key Skills & Competencies

a. Strong expertise in wastewater hydraulics, process engineering, sewerage system planning, and STP design.

b. Proven track record in urban used water projects.

c. Demonstrated experience in leading projects funded by NGT and SBM, ADB, World Bank,

d. Good understanding of national policies, SBM guidelines, and environmental compliance frameworks is an added advantage

e. Leadership skills with ability to manage large multidisciplinary teams.

f. Expected to be good client management expert with good communication skill and presentation expertise.

g. Strong problem-solving ability with focus on sustainable and cost-effective solutions.

h. Prior work experience in Karnataka or South India will be an added advantage.

i. Strong exposure to nature-based, decentralized, and hybrid wastewater treatment technologies.
