Position Overview Apexon is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Team Leader – Video Labeling to supervise and guide day-to-day annotation operations for machine learning and AI-focused projects. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of annotators and quality checkers, ensuring tasks are executed efficiently, accurately, and on time. A deep understanding of annotation tools, processes, and quality standards is essential. This role is ideal for someone looking to transition from senior operator roles into leadership with a strong technical backbone in annotation workflows. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily execution of annotation tasks including 2D/3D labelling, bounding boxes, polylines, polygons, semantic segmentation, and LiDAR point cloud labelling Distribute workload among team members, monitor progress, and ensure timely task completion in line with project deadlines and SLAs Provide clear instructions, training, and support to annotation staff on guidelines, tools, and task expectations Conduct regular quality checks and collaborate with quality assurance teams to maintain high annotation accuracy Assist in refining annotation guidelines and escalate ambiguities or tool limitations to project managers or tool developers Act as the first point of contact for addressing team-level technical or operational issues Track key metrics like productivity, accuracy, rework, and turnaround time, reporting findings to higher management Coordinate closely with process leads and cross-functional stakeholders to maintain workflow consistency and improve delivery efficiency Stay updated on tool updates, process changes, and best practices related to annotation and machine learning data labelling Required Skills & Qualifications Hands-on experience in leading or mentoring annotation teams working on computer vision or AV datasets Proficient in annotation tools such as CVAT, Kognic, Canvas, Philosys, Playment, GT Studio, Deepan, or similar platforms Solid understanding of image/video data structures, LiDAR datasets and labeling techniques Experience with quality assurance standards and annotation review processes Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage feedback and resolve team issues Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask under tight deadlines Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace for reporting and communication Team & People Responsibilities Support onboarding and continuous training of new team members Foster a positive and inclusive team environment focused on collaboration and performance Encourage participation in team-building and engagement activities Report team issues, risks, and improvement ideas to supervisors or project managers Ensure compliance with Apexon’s work standards, ethics, and data security protocols
