Tax Specialist

You are a qualified Tax Specialist in Direct Tax required to join the finance team in Chennai. Your primary focus will be on ensuring direct tax compliance, managing assessments, and providing strategic tax advisory. It is essential that you possess a strong understanding of Indian direct tax laws and demonstrate the ability to independently manage audits and reporting. Your responsibilities will include preparing and filing income tax returns and tax audit reports, ensuring compliance with TDS, advance tax, and other direct tax provisions, providing advisory on corporate tax planning and transactions, managing tax assessments, audits, and liaising with tax authorities, monitoring changes in tax laws and assessing their business impact, as well as coordinating with internal teams and external consultants. To qualify for this role, you must hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting along with a professional qualification in Taxation. A minimum of 3 years of experience in direct taxation is mandatory, preferably within the logistics or freight forwarding industry. You should have in-depth knowledge of Indian direct taxation, experience with tax audits, scrutiny assessments, and TDS compliance, strong analytical and communication skills, proficiency in tax software and MS Excel, and exposure to transfer pricing would be advantageous.,
