Tax Associate II - State and Local Tax - U.S. Sales Tax

The job revolves around the field of state and local income and/or sales tax compliance, where your role will involve preparing, reviewing, and filing sales and use tax returns for multiple states. With a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, you are expected to have a degree in Accounting or a related field, with a preference for a Masters degree. Possessing a CPA or EA certification would be an added advantage. Your responsibilities will include gaining a comprehensive understanding of state nexus concepts and standards, determining the taxability of sales transactions, and electronically filing sales and use tax returns. In addition, you will need to conduct research and analysis of sales tax laws in various states to provide accurate solutions to client issues. It is crucial for you to have a basic understanding of Avalara or Vertex sales tax software products and be capable of supervising multiple complex projects efficiently to meet sales tax deadlines. Furthermore, you will be required to collaborate with experienced SALT Team members and BPM colleagues to address sales tax matters for clients. Mentoring and training junior SALT sales tax associates will also be part of your responsibilities. Your role will involve contributing to the establishment of a positive and efficient SALT sales tax team in Bengaluru. To excel in this role, you should demonstrate strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and writing skills. Establishing and maintaining direct relationships with clients, along with experience in mentoring and training junior team members, will be beneficial. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis is essential, with income tax compliance experience considered a plus.,
