Tandem Developer - Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Analyze, design, program, debug, modify, and unit test software enhancements and/or new products.
• Take personal responsibility for the quality of individual deliverables and contribute to the quality assurance of the team's outputs.
• Interact with product managers and/or users to define system requirements and/or modifications.
• Participate in all Agile team meetings and ceremonies.
• Create and revise all technical documentation related to coding and development.
• Train new or junior developers on aspects of an application or system and development processes.
• Ensure application reliability, availability, and performance, minimizing downtime and optimizing response times.
• Lead incident response, including identification, triage, resolution, and post-incident analysis, while participating in on-call rotations for critical incidents.
• Collaborate with security teams to implement best practices and ensure compliance.
• Develop and test disaster recovery plans and backup strategies.
• Manage deployment pipelines and take ownership of end-to-end delivery

Skills Required:

• Proficiency in HP NonStop/Tandem system programming and development.
• Strong hands-on experience in COBOL and SQL for enterprise-level applications.
• Knowledge of Connex or Base24 transaction authorization systems.
• Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, including automation and monitoring.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and incident management frameworks.
• Strong understanding of system performance optimization and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams for problem resolution and incident analysis.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities for stakeholder coordination.
