Job Purpose:
Tableau Developer - Intermediate, Senior and Tableau Architect
To lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise-level Tableau dashboards and analytics solutions. The role involves close collaboration with business leaders, mentoring junior developers, and driving best practices in data visualization and BI architecture.
To define, design, and govern the overall Tableau and BI architecture across the organization. This role focuses on scalability, performance, security, and best practices while working closely with business leaders, data engineering teams, and BI developers to deliver enterprise-grade analytics solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
For Intermediate Tableau developer:
- Design, develop, and maintain
interactive Tableau dashboards and reports
- Translate business requirements into effective visual analytics solutions
- Develop advanced
calculated fields, parameters, filters, and table calculations
- Connect Tableau to multiple data sources (SQL databases, Excel, flat files, cloud data sources)
- Optimize dashboard performance and improve load times
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and validation across dashboards
- Publish and manage dashboards on
Tableau Server / Tableau Cloud
- Implement user-level security and row-level security
- Collaborate with stakeholders to review dashboards and incorporate feedback
- Troubleshoot Tableau and data-related issues
- Maintain technical and functional documentation
- Support end users and provide basic training when needed
Senior Tableau developer:
- Lead end-to-end design and development of
complex Tableau dashboards and reports
- Partner with business stakeholders to define analytics requirements and KPIs
- Architect scalable and high-performance Tableau solutions
- Develop advanced calculations, LOD expressions, table calculations, and parameters
- Design and manage data models for reporting (star/snowflake schemas)
- Optimize Tableau performance (extract optimization, query tuning, dashboard design)
- Manage and administer
Tableau Server / Tableau Cloud
environments - Implement data governance, security, and
row-level security
- Conduct code reviews and enforce Tableau best practices
- Mentor and guide junior and intermediate Tableau developers
- Collaborate with data engineering teams on ETL and data pipelines
- Drive dashboard standardization, usability, and visual storytelling
- Support production issues and lead root-cause analysis
- Prepare documentation, standards, and BI guidelines
For Tableau architect:
- Lead Tableau platform roadmap and architectural decisions
- Architect, install, configure, and manage
Tableau Server / Tableau Cloud
- Guide ETL and data pipeline integration for Tableau consumption
- Mentor senior and junior Tableau developers
- Stakeholder & Leadership
Technical Skills Required (Mandatory):
Atleast 3 to 12+ Years of relevant work experience in Tableau development
- Strong experience with
Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server and Tableau Cloud
Proficient in SQL (joins, subqueries, CTEs, aggregations, performance tuning)
Good hands on work experience in data warehousing and dimensional modelling
- Experience working with large and complex datasets
- Good understanding of data visualization best practices
- Experience in performance tuning Tableau dashboards
Good hands on work experience in lakehouse architectures (For Tableau architect)
- Experience designing enterprise BI solutions

Tableau architect)
- Strong knowledge of Tableau performance optimization techniques
(For Tableau Architect)
Qualifications:
Atleast 3 to 12+ years of relevant work experience as Tableau developer or Senior Tableau developer or Tableau architect
Bachelors degree in information technologies/computer science, Engineering/science, or a related field.
- Strong experience with
Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server and Tableau Cloud
Proficient in SQL (joins, subqueries, CTEs, aggregations, performance tuning)
Good hands on work experience in data warehousing and dimensional modelling
- Ability to communicate insights clearly to non-technical stakeholder
Strong communication skills
