System Studies Engineer

As a HVDC System Design Engineer at our company, your role involves interpreting customers" technical inquiries and designing cost-effective solutions for HVDC installations using power electronic solutions. Your primary objective will be to minimize total costs and specify high-value items of bought-out equipment. You will be responsible for developing and industrializing solutions tools and processes, leveraging your professional experience and technical expertise in power system engineering. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct network studies to confirm correct interactions between equipment, control systems, and the network - Perform harmonic analysis and power quality studies for HVDC converter stations - Take technical responsibility in your areas of expertise and adhere to company policies and quality procedures - Drive development and industrialization of engineering solutions tools and processes - Stay actively involved in new developments in HVDC technologies and process improvement - Support and mentor other engineers to enhance the team's technical knowledge and competence - Coordinate engineering tasks to meet project and tender requirements Desired Additional Skills: - Conduct insulation coordination studies and calculate project losses - Create project-specific equipment specifications for high economic value equipment - Develop overall reliability and availability models for projects Qualifications Required: - Engineering degree with a focus on power systems and power electronics - Proven experience in HVDC System Design - Proficiency in harmonic analysis, power system design, and system tools like PSCAD, PSS/E, DigSilent, RTDS, and MATLAB - Understanding of insulation coordination and main equipment characteristics for HVDC - Familiarity with HVDC Valves and their control systems - Strong presentation abilities In addition to the technical skills, you are expected to possess personal skills such as the ability to lead technical activities, work under tight deadlines with a sense of urgency, communicate effectively, coordinate and lead a small group of engineers, and have a structured approach to sharing knowledge and experience.
