System Operator (Networking & Hardware)

The role of System Operator requires a skilled individual with a strong understanding of computer hardware, networking, and system operations. As a System Operator, you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting IT systems to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of networks, servers, and connected devices. Your duties will include monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and providing user support to optimize system performance. Your key responsibilities will involve: - Monitoring servers, desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT assets to ensure efficient operation with minimal downtime. - Managing routine system backups, updates, and maintenance to uphold system integrity. - Installing, configuring, and maintaining LAN/WAN networks, routers, switches, and firewalls to ensure connectivity and data security. - Diagnosing hardware issues, coordinating repairs or replacements, and maintaining an inventory of IT hardware and spare components. - Managing user accounts, permissions, and system access, and ensuring antivirus, patches, and security updates are up to date. - Responding to IT support requests, documenting and tracking issues, and providing basic troubleshooting guidance to staff. - Following IT policies, data security protocols, and backup procedures, while suggesting improvements for system reliability and efficiency. - Generating reports on system health, network usage, and downtime incidents to enhance overall performance. To qualify for this role, you need: - Education: Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Any field, Information Technology, or related field. - Experience: 1-3 years in system operations, hardware support, or networking roles (Fresher with strong skills can also apply). - Strong knowledge of computer hardware components and troubleshooting techniques. - Proficiency in LAN/WAN setup, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and Wi-Fi management. - Experience with Windows/Linux OS and basic server administration. - Knowledge of firewalls, switches, and routers configuration, backup solutions, and system monitoring tools.
