System Analyst

Role & responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented System Analyst to support the planning, implementation, and maintenance of technical systems within our Computer Science Laboratory. The analyst will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of lab infrastructure, supporting research and academic computing needs, and bridging

the gap between users (faculty, students, researchers) and IT staff.

Preferred candidate profile

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze the labs computing requirements and design system solutions to meet academic and research needs.

• Monitor and optimize the performance of lab systems, networks, and servers.

• Collaborate with faculty and researchers to define technical specifications for experimental computing setups.

• Recommend, install, and configure software and hardware, including specialized research tools and platforms.

• Conduct feasibility studies for new lab technologies and system upgrades.

• Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

• Ensure data security, backup integrity, and compliance with institutional IT policies.

• Provide technical support and training for students and staff using lab systems.

• Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance lab productivity and innovation.

• Coordinate with IT services and vendors for system procurement and support.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in system analysis, IT support, or a similar technical role.

• Experience in academic or research environments is a plus.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in system administration (Windows/Linux/macOS).

• Experience with virtualization, networking, and storage systems.

• Familiarity with programming/scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).

• Knowledge of research tools, databases, and cloud services (AWS, Azure) is a plus.

• Ability to troubleshoot hardware/software issues methodically.
