System Administrator

As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining Linux, Windows, and macOS systems in a fast-paced environment. With 2 years of experience, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. Your primary responsibilities will include Linux systems administration, where you will install, configure, and monitor Linux servers such as Ubuntu, CentOS, and Debian. You will manage user access, troubleshoot issues, and automate tasks using scripting languages like Bash and Python. Additionally, you will oversee Git repositories and Docker containers. In terms of Windows and macOS support, you will provide technical assistance for software, hardware, and network problems. You will deploy updates, ensure security compliance, and facilitate integration between Windows/macOS devices and Linux systems. Networking and security will also be a crucial aspect of your role. You will configure and maintain networking equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Furthermore, you will implement security measures, manage DNS and DHCP, and monitor network performance. Documentation and user support will be another key area of focus. You will be responsible for maintaining system documentation, IT policies, and procedures. You will also assist employees with IT issues through helpdesk tickets, email, or in-person support. Backup and recovery will be an essential part of your responsibilities. You will design and test backup strategies, ensuring data integrity and enabling rapid disaster recovery in case of emergencies. To excel in this role, you should have hands-on experience in Linux administration, familiarity with Windows and macOS troubleshooting, and knowledge of networking protocols and tools. Scripting skills, certifications like RHCSA or CompTIA Linux, and a proactive approach to problem-solving will be advantageous.
