Role Overview: The Hilti OnTrack team is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE 4) / Tech Lead to lead the planning, design, implementation, and delivery of critical components for their asset management solution tailored to the construction industry. Your work will be crucial in driving the success of the platform and impacting users worldwide. As a part of the engineering team, you will develop software solutions for the unique challenges of the construction industry, ensuring high-quality and scalable software that meets customer needs. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, providing guidance on best practices, coding standards, and design principles. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables. - Drive the adoption of modern software engineering practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud-native development. - Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and reliable software systems. - Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, participate in code reviews, and troubleshoot technical issues. - Oversee project implementation, prioritize tasks, and communicate project status to stakeholders. - Stay updated with emerging technologies and drive continuous improvement initiatives. - Contribute to the growth and development of the engineering team, identifying training opportunities. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree in computer science or related technical discipline with 10+ years of experience in building software and complex services. - 5+ years of experience in designing, building, and managing highly available and distributed services. - Proficiency in software engineering using Java, C#, JavaScript, and related frameworks like Spring and React. - Experience with cloud services like AWS, Azure, and familiarity with orchestration and microservices. - Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, testing, debugging, and analytical skills. - Knowledge of DevOps practices, effective communication, collaboration skills, and ability to prioritize issues. - Passion for software engineering, leading a diverse engineering organization, and working across disciplines and teams.
