Sustainability Specialist (Green Building Specialized)

Job Summary:

The Building Sustainability Engineer will be responsible for leading sustainable design and construction efforts, ensuring compliance with green building certification requirements, and managing sustainability initiatives across various building projects. The position requires a minimum of 8 years of experience in building sustainability engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement sustainable design solutions for building projects to optimize performance and minimize energy consumption
• Lead sustainability efforts and collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to integrate sustainable measures into building design and construction
• Ensure compliance with green building certification requirements, such as LEED, WELL, and BREEAM
• Manage and coordinate sustainability initiatives across multiple building and masterplan projects, including energy audits, waste management, and water conservation
• Conduct life-cycle assessments and cost-benefit analysis of sustainability measures to inform decision-making and project planning
• Provide technical expertise on sustainable building design and construction to clients and project teams
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and trends related to sustainable building practices and certification programs
• Develop and maintain relationships with green building certification organizations, local governments, and other stakeholders
• Prepare documentation related to green building certification and sustainability initiatives

Requirements:

• Master's degree in engineering, Architecture, Environmental Science, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building sustainability engineering or related field
• Strong knowledge of green building certification programs, such as LEED, WELL, and BREEAM
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret building data
• Experience with sustainability audits and compliance requirements
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in energy modeling software, such as eQUEST, EnergyPlus, or IESVE
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other building design software is a plus
