eQuest Energy Modeller ### Position Overview We are seeking a skilled *eQuest Energy Modeller* to join our green building consultancy. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in building energy modeling using *eQuest*, as well as a solid understanding of building science principles, HVAC systems, and relevant green certification standards (e.g., LEED, IGBC, GRIHA, ECBC, ASHRAE, or other local codes). The Energy Engineer Associate is responsible for reviewing supplier proposals, performing detailed energy calculations, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of comprehensive energy audits for industrial and commercial facilities. You will use advanced energy modeling software to simulate and analyze the performance of various energy systems, contributing to the development and implementation of energy-saving initiatives, and supporting the overall optimization of building energy performance. Your responsibilities will include conducting detailed energy assessments to identify opportunities for energy savings and efficiency improvements. You will review and evaluate supplier proposals to ensure accuracy and alignment with energy efficiency goals. Additionally, you will prepare and present detailed reports on energy audit findings, recommendations, and potential savings. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement energy-saving measures and monitor their performance will also be part of your role. It is essential to stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in energy management and sustainability. Participation in training and professional development activities to enhance your technical skills and knowledge in energy engineering is encouraged. In your role, you will spend 60% of your time performing QA/QC on comprehensive energy audits for industrial and commercial facilities to review energy savings calculations, 5% utilizing energy modeling software to simulate and analyze the performance of various energy systems, and 35% performing energy calculations. To excel in this position, you should possess a strong knowledge of energy data analysis and benchmarking. Familiarity with building systems such as central utility plants, chillers, boilers, HVAC systems, lighting, and other energy-intensive equipment is required. Proficiency in energy modeling software and tools like EnergyPlus, eQUEST, or similar is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective collaboration with clients, suppliers, and team members. An analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities is also key. You must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or relevant experience. 1-3 years of experience in Building Energy Efficiency, Facility Optimization, or Energy Management Systems is desired. Familiarity with energy modeling software and tools, along with experience with ASHRAE Level 1 & 2 audits, is preferred. Professional certifications such as CEM (Certified Energy Manager) and EIT (Engineer in Training) are also advantageous. Manage sustainable design analysis, conceptual energy modeling, and sustainability analysis for LEED, IGBC, GRIHA and ECBC compliance. Coordinate with multiple internal and external design teams on LEED, WELL, IGBC, GRIHA, and sustainability project contactors for delivering project in timely & quality manner. Keep records of Green Certification Documents & manage Green Certification documentation on Necessary portals provided or filling up template for necessary rating systems Co-ordinate on mail or calls with necessary stakeholders for obtaining green certifications documentation as and when required. Keep updated on knowledge of green rating systems, design standards & local codes & other environmental developments happening in the region. Front end the project execution & execute the services assigned as per the client requirements & timelines. Manage day to day project matters related to the service & gets the project executed with help of Supporting Engineers. Participating in weekly meetings & regular project team interactions. Tech (Electrical) Industry : Building Services / Utilities & Plant Engineering / Energy management consultancy Experience : Min 3~5 years related experience on Electrical infrastructure system (, DG sets, Power Transformer, HT/LT distribution, lighting, Fire & Safety systems, IBMS) Designing, Installation, Testing & commissioning, Project, energy assessment, its performance measurement and report preparation in the commercial building/ Industrial utilities /Manufacturing industries/ Data Center sectors. Successfully lead & completed the minimum 3 (Three) Electrical infrastructure projects or successfully implemented 2 (Two) energy management projects. A sound knowledge of MEP infrastructure system and its control systems along with the best practices of energy conservation measures. Additional capabilities like EPI, EUI, PUE calculation, Star ratings, ROI and payback calculation, and financial modelling of energy management projects. Provide technical support to Energy Management team for Performance evaluation & Defining KPI of Electrical systems on site. Provide technical support to the Operation & Maintenance team for defining SLA, Breakdown & RCA of Electrical systems onsite with OEM. Conduct the walk-through assessment to analyze and identify the energy saving potential in the existing MEP infrastructure systems through retrofits / upgradation / modernization / digitalization / Automation or energy management practices. Skills, knowledge and abilities: Must have excellent Oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical and prioritization skills. Hands-on experience on working & trouble shooting of Electrical systems like Transformer, HT/LT distribution & Switch gears, Induction motors, Starter panels, VFD, SMPS, Battery Banks, Earthing, Lift/Elevators, Fire & Safety- FAS, Access control, Fire Hydrant, Power quality & Harmonics. Hands-on experience on control & the safeties available in the Electrical systems mentioned above. Basic personal computer, business software skill and familiarity with reporting tools are added advantage. Basic understanding of various standards like IS/IEC/IEEE/CE/UL for Electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret systems and construction documents. Ability to accomplish tasks timely and with minimal supervision. Ability to lead & mentoring a group of Electrical engineers & interact openly with the OEM. Should be able to work in virtual teams and lead teams as practice expands.
