As a Lead Engineer at MongoDB, you will play a crucial role in leveling up TechOps and launching a new Support and Development Team. You will collaborate with the Internal Engineering department to build enterprise-grade software that enhances coworkers" effectiveness. Your responsibilities will include resolving complex technical issues escalated from Level 1 Support, actively contributing to the codebases of supported platforms to address those issues, and providing guidance and planning for the engineers on your team. **Key Responsibilities:** - Manage a team of 2-3 Support And Development Engineers - Facilitate planning, execution, and delivery of work for your team - Balance engineering tasks with managerial responsibilities - Collaborate with other leads to effectively prioritize your team for maximum impact - Develop tooling to diagnose and solve technical issues efficiently - Fix bugs and implement new features for supported platforms - Be on call during a 12-hour shift (8 am - 8 pm IST) for critical support issues **Qualifications Required:** - 5-7 years of experience in building software professionally - 1-3 years of experience managing software engineers - Proficiency in a modern programming language such as Python, Go, or Rust - Strong organizational and project management skills - Passion for coaching and developing teammates - Collaborative, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about creating usable software **Position Expectations:** In three months, you will establish positive relationships with your direct reports, providing them guidance to enhance their performance. You will enable your team to resolve 75% of escalated support issues within three months and aim for 90% within six months. Additionally, you will commit code to address 75% of actionable bugs within six months.
