As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer on our newly formed Field Engineering team, you’ll work directly with enterprise customers on high-impact projects that leverage Generative AI, LLMs, and modern application development. You’ll be hands-on in helping organizations migrate legacy databases, modernize their architecture, and integrate AI-driven functionality into their applications. This is a rare opportunity to apply your software engineering expertise while driving AI adoption across industries. You’ll not only solve challenging, real-world engineering problems, but also influence MongoDB’s AI strategy and product direction. We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Gurugram for our hybrid working model. What You’ll Do Work with enterprise customers to refactor applications, migrate legacy databases, and optimize performance using MongoDB Prototype and build AI-powered features, leveraging LLMs and Generative AI frameworks to improve software development workflows and application functionality Apply modern software engineering practices to accelerate customers’ AI adoption, helping them implement microservices-based architectures, intelligent automation, and AI-enhanced applications Influence MongoDB’s AI and software development roadmap by sharing insights from real-world implementations and customer needs Collaborate across engineering, product, and customer teams to create scalable, resilient software solutions What We’re Looking For 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of delivering impactful technical solutions for enterprise clients, preferably using Java, SQL, and Python An engineering degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Network Engineering, or Electrical Engineering In-depth knowledge of AI/ML concepts, tools, and open-source development; experience designing and implementing AI-powered applications is highly preferred Proficient in test-driven development methodologies and familiar with monolithic vs. microservices architectures, including database migration and refactoring Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for tackling complex, “un-Googleable” challenges while driving innovation through software development Preferred qualifications: Academic research experience in parsing, AI/ML, or programming languages To drive the personal growth and business impact of our employees, we’re committed to developing a supportive and enriching culture for everyone.
