Job Description

As a Tax Manager, your responsibilities will include reviewing complex financial services client returns, focusing on Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Fund of Funds, blocker corporation returns, and S-Corporation returns prepared by staff/senior members. You will also be responsible for reviewing State returns for financial services clients and identifying international filing requirements through organizational chart study and reviewing international tax returns. Additionally, you will train new and existing team members on concepts and technologies, providing timely feedback for each project reviewed. You will conduct kick-off calls to understand clients better and maintain regular communication with US counterparts to address budget conflicts, resource scheduling conflicts, and other project-related issues. Guiding staff/senior members on potential tax adjustments due to tax law changes and e-filing validations will also be part of your role. Moreover, you will be involved in recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and mentoring team members, ensuring adherence to timelines and high-quality standards through consistent learning. Facilitating trainings and contributing to the development of training materials for technical topics are also part of your responsibilities. To excel in this role, you must possess the ability to conduct independent tax research in unforeseen tax scenarios, excellent communication skills, fluency in English (written and spoken), and a willingness to learn new tax software. Being a quick learner, having an enthusiastic and positive demeanor, and being a team player are essential qualities. You should be prepared to work long hours during busy seasons, meet deadlines, handle multiple projects simultaneously efficiently, and supervise staff effectively. Building working relationships with peers, supervisors, and US colleagues is crucial for success in this position. The ideal candidate for this role should be a Qualified Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant (US), or IRS Enrolled Agent with more than 5 years of experience in detailed tax return reviews, particularly in financial services. Proficiency in CCh Axcess Tax, Gofile room, and CaseWare is required to fulfill the position requirements effectively.,
