Role Description This is a full-time role for a Proposal Engineer at SUN Industrial Automation & Solutions Private Limited in Chennai. The Proposal Engineer will be responsible for proposal preparation, proposal writing, electrical engineering support, sales activities, and procurement assistance. The Proposal Engineer/Manager plays a crucial role in the sales process by creating comprehensive proposals that address the needs and requirements of potential clients. They collaborate closely with sales teams, engineering, and other vendors to develop technically accurate and compelling proposals that meet client specifications. Key Responsibilities 1.Proposal Development: Develop detailed proposals in response to customer RFQs (Requests for Quotation) or RFPs (Requests for Proposals), ensuring alignment with client requirements, technical specifications, and company capabilities. 2.Technical Understanding: Possess a deep understanding of the company's products/services, engineering principles, and industry standards to effectively communicate technical solutions to clients. 3.Collaboration: Work closely with sales teams, project teams, Design engineers, and other vendors to gather necessary information and insights for proposal development. 4.Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates by analyzing project requirements, material costs, labour costs, and other relevant factors. 5.Proposal Customization: Tailor proposals to address specific client needs and showcase the unique value proposition of the company's products/services. 6.Tendering: Prepare Costing and documents based on tender specification and submit in the tender portal 7.Documentation: Maintain organized records of proposal documents, including versions, revisions, and related correspondence. 8.Deadline Management: Manage multiple proposal deadlines simultaneously, ensuring timely submission of high-quality proposals. 9.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in proposal development, including the development of templates, tools, and best practices. The Design Head will lead the design team for Solar Power projects, ensuring innovative, cost-effective and high-performance solar solutions. This role involves overseeing the entire design lifecycle from concept to execution. While ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and client requirements. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Solar PV system design, strong leadership skills and a passion for renewable energy. 1. Design & Engineering Leadership: Lead the design and development of solar PV systems (rooftop, ground-mounted, floating, hybrid, etc.). Review and approve technical drawings, layouts, SLDs (Single Line Diagrams), and BOM (Bill of Materials). Ensure designs comply with national/international standards (IEC, NEC, IEEE, etc.). Experience: 10+ years in solar PV design, with 5+ years in leadership roles. Technical Skills: Expertise in PV system design, earthing, cable sizing, inverter selection.
