Subsurface Technology Associate (Reservoir Engineer)

Role Overview: BP's Oil and Gas Technology (OGT) group is seeking a Reservoir Engineer to join the Subsurface & Wells Technology (SS&W) team. As a Reservoir Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative solutions to complex subsurface challenges by utilizing reservoir engineering experience and data science skills. Key Responsibilities: - Work closely with regions globally to develop innovative solutions using classical and simulation reservoir engineering methods - Develop Python code to enhance subsurface workflows and increase predictability - Provide technical support, coaching, and guidance on technology solutions - Automate and parallelize subsurface workflows utilizing high-performance computing - Apply reservoir engineering concepts to integrate across subsurface teams - Utilize reservoir analysis fundamentals such as pressure transient analysis, reservoir simulation, decline curve analysis, and material balance Qualifications Required: - BSc/MSc degree in Petroleum/Reservoir Engineering, related applied science engineering, or mathematics - Minimum 5 years of experience as a Reservoir Engineer with expertise in reservoir management, simulation, and analytical workflows - Proficiency in Python and experience in script/software creation - Knowledge of data science techniques including machine learning, AI, and uncertainty management - Experience with classical reservoir engineering toolkits and simulation tools - Strong communication and influencing skills - Ability to manage multiple activities, respond to changing priorities, and meet short-term deadlines About the Company: BP is a global energy business focused on reimagining energy for people and the planet.
