Subsurface Technology Associate (Reservoir Engineer)

As a Reservoir Engineer in the Subsurface & Wells Technology team at BPs Oil and Gas Technology (OGT) group, your role involves utilizing broad reservoir engineering experience and data science skills to support the transformation of subsurface ways of working. Your key responsibilities will include: - Working closely with regions globally to develop innovative solutions to complex subsurface challenges using classical and simulation reservoir engineering methods - Developing Python code to enhance subsurface workflows and predictability - Providing technical support, coaching, and guidance on deployed technology solutions - Automating and parallelizing subsurface workflows utilizing bp's High Performance Computing center - Applying reservoir engineering concepts to integrate across subsurface teams such as geoscience and well delivery To be successful in this role, you will need: Qualifications: - Bsc / Msc degree in Petroleum/ Reservoir Engineering, related applied science engineering, or mathematics Experiences/Skills: - Track record as a Reservoir Engineer with experience in reservoir management, simulation, performance, and analytical workflows - Proficiency in Python scripting and software creation - Knowledge of data science techniques like machine learning, AI, and uncertainty management - Experience with classical RE toolkits and reservoir simulation tools - Strong communication and influencing skills - Ability to manage multiple activities and adapt to changing business priorities - Working understanding of reservoir analysis fundamentals Minimum years of relevant experience: - Minimum 5 years as a Reservoir Engineer with experience in classical reservoir engineering and reservoir simulation Good to have experiences/skills: - Coding on Jupyter notebooks - Interactions with high-performance compute clusters - Code management tools such as version control About bp: bp is a global energy business committed to reimagining energy for people and the planet, aiming to help the world reach net zero and improve lives.
