Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Manufacturing Process Equipment

Location: Remote Job Type: Contractual/Hourly basis Industry: Manufacturing / Chemical / Pharma / Fertilizer / Oil Gas / Petrochemicals About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) with hands-on shop floor experience in manufacturing process equipment such as tanks, reactors, heat exchangers, scrubbers, agitators, adsorbers etc. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of fabrication, welding, quality control, and compliance standards, having worked with clients across chemical, pharmaceutical, fertilizer, oil gas, and petrochemical industries. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert guidance on the manufacturing and fabrication of process equipment. Offer technical expertise in welding, material selection, machining, and assembly processes. Provide understanding of standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., ASME, TEMA, API, GMP). Train and mentor expediting teams on best practices and safety protocols. Required Qualifications Experience: 10+ years of experience working on the shop floor in manufacturing and fabricating process equipment . Strong background in fabricating equipment like pressure vessels, reactors, agitators, scrubbers, heat exchanger and similar equipment Expertise in welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, SAW) and material selection (carbon steel, stainless steel, exotic alloys). In-depth knowledge of codes and standards like ASME Sec VIII, TEMA, API 650, and PED. Hands-on experience in inspection techniques (NDT, hydro testing, leak testing). Experience in working with chemical, pharma, fertilizer, oil gas, and petrochemical industries. Preferred Qualifications: (Not Mandatory) Certification in ASME, AWS, or NDT Level II/III is a plus. Prior experience in training and mentoring shop floor teams. Prior experience in expediting process/fabricated equipment or involvement with TPI agencies will be a plus
