Sub-Editor

We are looking for a Sub-Editor with 1-2 years of experience to support the Editorial and Communications Team in producing short-form publications. The ideal candidate should possess a strong command of the English language, a basic understanding of international affairs, climate, technology, and warfare, and be skilled in refining content to meet high editorial standards for our publications

Key Responsibilities:

• Edit and proofread short-form content, including policy briefs, event reports, and press releases, ensuring accuracy, coherence, and adherence to the organisation’s style guide.
• Collaborate with researchers, external authors and the communications team to refine arguments and improve clarity in content covering a wide range of topics.
• Fact-check data, verify sources and ensure adherence to ethical and copyright standards.
• Contribute to developing headlines, summaries, and other SEO elements to enhance content engagement and visibility
• Stay updated on global trends and policy discussions to provide relevant editorial insights.
• Quick turnaround time for briefs as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• 1-2 years of professional experience in editing, writing, or publishing, preferably within a think tank, media house, or academic environment.
• Exceptional command of English, with strong grammar, syntax, and editing skills.
• Familiarity with topics such as international relations, climate change, economics, or technology is a strong advantage.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines with high attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with content management systems (CMS) is a plus.
