As an Mechanical Design Engineering Intern at HARMAN Automotive, you will have the opportunity to work on innovative audio systems and integrated technology platforms that enhance the driving experience. Your main responsibilities will include: - Assisting in 3D/2D CAD design using CATIA V5, focusing on surfacing, sheet metal, and plastic components. - Supporting the design and development of car audio systems while ensuring compliance with automotive standards. - Participating in design reviews and collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers. - Working on technical documentation, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), tolerance analysis, and BOM (Bill of Materials) creation. - Supporting design optimization for cost, weight, and manufacturability. To be successful in this role, you should: - Currently be enrolled in or have completed a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. - Have a basic understanding of CAD software (Catia V5) and mechanical design principles. - Possess proficiency in CATIA V5, including surfacing, sheet metal design, and assemblies (advantageous). - Demonstrate good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and understanding of DFM and DFA. - Have strong communication and teamwork skills. - Be able to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment. Additionally, possessing a strong technical aptitude with excellent problem-solving skills would be beneficial.
