Job Description

monitors, operates, and performs routine maintenance on a sewage treatment plant to ensure it functions efficiently and complies with environmental standards

Role & responsibilities

Plant Operation & Monitoring:
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the STP, including starting and stopping equipment such as pumps, blowers, motors, and chemical dosing systems.
Equipment Maintenance:
Conduct routine checks and preventive maintenance on plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues.
Water Quality Analysis:
Regularly test and analyze water samples to monitor water quality parameters (e.g., pH, BOD, COD, turbidity, chlorine levels) and ensure treatment processes are effective.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate logs and reports detailing plant operations, performance data, and compliance documentation.
Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve operational issues, coordinating with maintenance staff when necessary to ensure smooth plant function.
Compliance:
Ensure all plant operations adhere to local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards.
Safety:
Follow all safety protocols, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and participate in emergency response activities as required.
