Job Description: Store Keeper

Job Title: Store Keeper / Storekeeper / Store Assistant
Department: Operations, Logistics, Warehouse
Reports To: Store In charge

Job Purpose (Summary):

The Store Keeper is responsible for the efficient receiving, storing, issuing, and managing of goods and supplies within the warehouse or store. The role ensures accurate record-keeping, maintains inventory levels, and upholds a clean, safe, and organized storage environment to support the smooth operation of the business.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Receiving of Goods:

· Receive and inspect all incoming materials and supplies.

· Verify purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices for quantity and quality.

· Report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues to the supervisor and relevant department (e.g., Procurement).

· Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.

2. Storage and Warehousing:

· Properly store and bin all items in their designated locations to optimize space and ensure easy access.

· Ensure storage areas are organized, clean, and secure at all times.

· Handle goods with care, especially fragile, hazardous, or high-value items.

· Implement and maintain a First-In, First-Out (FIFO) system for perishable and time-sensitive goods.

3. Inventory Management and Issuing:

· Process requisitions and issue materials, tools, parts, or supplies to authorized personnel.

· Prepare items for dispatch, ensuring accurate picking, packing, and labeling.

· Maintain accurate and real-time records of all stock movements (incoming, outgoing, returns).

· Conduct regular physical stock counts and cycle counts.

· Reconcile physical counts with computer inventory records and investigate any variances.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

· Maintain all necessary logs and records (e.g., goods received, goods issued, inventory records).

· Prepare and submit regular inventory reports (e.g., stock levels, slow-moving items, stock-out reports) to management.

· Assist in the inventory forecasting and re-ordering process to prevent stock-outs or overstocking.

Qualifications and Experience:

· Education: High school or diploma or equivalent required or a related field is a plus.

· Experience: Previous experience (1-2 years) as a store keeper, warehouse assistant, or in a similar inventory control role is preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
