Role Overview: As a Material Management Specialist at our construction project site in Thumkumta, you will be responsible for overseeing the receiving, storage, and issuance of all construction materials, equipment, and tools. Your role will involve maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring quality and quantity assurance of incoming materials, organizing materials for easy access, and implementing strategies to reduce wastage. Additionally, you will coordinate with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials while maintaining a safe working environment within the store. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee the receiving, storage, and issuance of all construction materials, equipment, and tools. - Maintain accurate records of all materials, including physical inventory, receipts, adjustments, and returns. - Inspect incoming materials to ensure quality, quantity, and condition standards are met. - Properly store and arrange materials for easy identification, access, and handling. - Maintain logs, registers, and other documentation for all material transactions. - Coordinate with purchasing department and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials. - Implement safety measures and ensure a safe working environment within the store. - Implement strategies to reduce material wastage and loss. Qualifications Required: - Strong understanding of inventory control principles and practices. - Proficiency in maintaining manual and digital records. - Familiarity with MS Office. - Organizational skills to keep the storeroom clean, organized, and presentable. - Attention to detail for accuracy in material management. - Effective communication skills for coordination with internal departments and vendors. - 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in stores management in any construction company. - Graduation in any discipline.
