Job Description

As a Material Management Specialist, your role will involve overseeing the receiving, storage, and issuance of all construction materials, equipment, and tools at the project site. Your key responsibilities will include: - **Material Management:** Oversee the receiving, storage, and issuance of all construction materials, equipment, and tools at the project site. - **Inventory Control:** Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all materials, including physical inventory, receipts, adjustments, and returns. Inspect incoming materials to ensure they meet specified quality, quantity, and condition standards, reconciling with purchase orders. - **Stocking and Organization:** Properly store and arrange materials for easy identification, access, and handling. Employ appropriate preservation methods to prevent damage. - **Documentation and Reporting:** Maintain logs, registers (e.g., Material Receipt Register, Delivery & Dispatch Register), and other required documentation for all material transactions. Prepare monthly store reconciliation statements. - **Coordination:** Liaise with the purchasing department and internal teams (e.g., site management) to ensure timely delivery of materials and address any discrepancies. - **Safety and Maintenance:** Ensure a safe working environment within the store. Implement proper safety measures for materials, personnel, and the store facility itself. - **Wastage Reduction:** Implement strategies and maintain processes to reduce material wastage and loss. You should possess the following skills and qualifications: - Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices. - Proficiency in maintaining manual and digital records. - Familiarity with MS Office. - Organizational skills to keep a storeroom clean, organized, and presentable. - Attention to detail for accuracy in receiving, storing, and accounting for materials. - Effective communication skills to coordinate with internal departments and external vendors. Additionally, you are required to have: - **Experience:** 3 to 5 years in stores management in any construction company. - **Education:** Graduation in any discipline.
