The key skills required for this position include budgeting and inventory management, team leadership and delegation, multi-tasking and organizational skills, a target-oriented work approach, good product knowledge, strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as staff training and development. As a Store Manager, your responsibilities will include managing day-to-day store operations by scheduling and assigning duties to store staff, preparing annual budgets, and managing store expenditures efficiently. You will need to understand and fulfill customer requirements by building strong relationships, ensuring merchandise and services are available through effective inventory and vendor management. It will also be your duty to maintain a clean, safe, and secure store environment for all employees and customers, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements to protect store integrity. Implementing and enforcing operational and personnel policies to ensure smooth operations, developing and executing purchasing plans while maintaining strong vendor communication, and handling staffing activities including recruitment, appraisals, training, and development are also part of your role. You will be expected to monitor and control operational costs to maximize store profitability, as well as perform additional store management tasks as and when required. Conducting or attending daily morning meetings, ensuring accurate reporting, participating actively in review meetings to assess performance and plan improvements, are also key aspects of this position.
