Storage Administrator SAN / NAS technologies

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Allocate and deallocate storage resources on SAN and NAS platforms such as Hitachi, NetApp, IBM FlashSystem, HP3PAR, and similar systems. Perform routine health checks on SAN/NAS infrastructure to ensure optimal functioning. Administer Director Class SANs and perform detailed system diagnostics and troubleshooting. Design, implement, and manage Fibre Channel (FC) SAN fabrics with a strong grasp of FC and NAS protocols. Monitor storage pool utilization, analyze performance KPIs, and recommend optimization measures. Monitor and promptly respond to storage alerts, including hardware faults and volume issues. Conduct impact assessments and coordinate maintenance activities for storage array upgrades and hardware replacements. Collaborate closely with VMware and UNIX teams to validate and remediate multipathing configurations. Coordinate hardware installations and replacements in partnership with data center teams and vendors. Troubleshoot and resolve SAN port-related alerts with corrective actions. Manage SAN zoning, including creating, modifying, and deleting zones as necessary. Set up, monitor, and maintain storage replication processes to ensure data availability and disaster recovery readiness. Required Qualifications & Skills: Proven hands-on experience with enterprise SAN/NAS storage technologies (Hitachi, NetApp, IBM FlashSystem, HP3PAR, etc.). Strong knowledge of Fibre Channel SAN architectures and protocols. Experience administering Director Class SAN environments. Expertise in SAN zoning and multipathing in VMware and UNIX environments. Ability to perform system health checks, diagnostics, and troubleshoot storage-related issues. Experience with storage replication technologies and disaster recovery solutions. Excellent coordination and communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and vendors.
