Job Description

You will be a key member of the Merchant Growth team at Uber Eats, focusing on driving merchant success on the platform. Collaborating with backend and web engineers, product managers, and designers, you will play a crucial role in delivering impactful products that help merchants excel on the platform. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead the design and architecture of a high-performance streaming platform with a focus on scalability, reliability, and efficiency. - Work closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements and translate them into technical specifications. - Optimize the existing streaming infrastructure for enhanced efficiency, latency, and data freshness. - Develop and implement solutions that can seamlessly scale with the growing needs of the user base. - Mentor junior engineers to foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. - Experience in building and evolving the architectural foundation for Merchant web applications. - Proficiency in creating developer tools to enhance the productivity and quality of product teams. - Ability to refine and define the tech stack, utilize open-source tools, and build innovative solutions. - Strong communication and collaboration skills to drive company-wide projects and mentor other web engineers. The preferred qualifications for this role include: - Deep knowledge of JavaScript and experience with Node.js. - Expertise in core and emerging web technologies and APIs such as HTTP2, TCP/IP, CSS/HTML, and Browser JS APIs. - Understanding of Web and Information Security concepts like CORS, CSP, CSRF, XSS, etc. - Proficiency in debugging and profiling Browsers and Node.js to improve page load speed and runtime performance. - Familiarity with modern web tools (npm, Babel, etc.) and frameworks (React, Fusion, etc.).
