Job Description

Role Overview: As a Staff Frontend Engineer at Zendesk, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining the interface that supports agents assisting millions of people daily. Your focus will be on enhancing human support interactions globally by developing customer-facing features, modernizing legacy UI, and improving performance to empower agents to deliver better service. Key Responsibilities: - Build customer-facing features in the Support product to enhance agent productivity - Modernize legacy UI using React, Redux, TypeScript, and GraphQL - Identify and resolve performance issues to enhance speed and reliability - Collaborate with fellow engineers to improve development workflows and tooling - Share knowledge through documenting best practices and supporting other team members - Guide architectural decisions with a focus on long-term maintainability and performance - Simplify complexity and enhance developer experience across the platform Qualifications Required: - 7+ years of experience building web applications in a frontend environment, preferably in SaaS - Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and frameworks like React and Redux - Strong understanding of browser behavior, JS event loop, async programming, and DOM interaction - Familiarity with testing practices from unit to end-to-end - Experience working in agile environments and adapting to changing priorities - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Willingness to mentor and collaborate with team members - Knowledge of Ember is a plus, but not mandatory - Previous contributions to open-source projects or technical documentation are advantageous Note: Zendesk can only consider candidates located in Karnataka or Maharashtra for this role.
