Role Overview: As a Staff Software Engineer specializing in Java at Walmart Global Tech in Chennai, you will play a crucial role in guiding the team in making architectural decisions and best practices for building scalable applications. Your responsibilities will include driving design, development, implementation, and documentation of cutting-edge solutions that impact associates of Walmart globally. You will collaborate with engineering teams across different locations, engage with Product Management and Business to drive product agendas, and work closely with architects to ensure solutions meet Quality, Cost, and Delivery standards. Key Responsibilities: - Drive design, development, implementation, and documentation of cutting-edge solutions impacting associates globally - Guide the team in making architectural decisions and best practices for building scalable applications - Collaborate with engineering teams across different locations - Engage with Product Management and Business to drive product agendas - Work closely with architects to ensure solutions meet Quality, Cost, and Delivery standards Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field - Minimum of 10 years of experience in software design, development, and automated deployments - Prior experience in delivering highly scalable Java applications - Strong system design skills and proficiency in CS fundamentals, Microservices, Data Structures, and Algorithms - Hands-on experience with CICD development environments and tools like Git, Maven, and Jenkins - Expertise in writing modular and testable code using frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito - Experience in building Java-based backend systems and working with cloud-based solutions - Familiarity with technologies like Spring Boot, Kafka, and Spark - Well-versed in microservices architecture, distributed concepts, design patterns, and cloud-native development - Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, caching technologies, event-based systems like Kafka, monitoring tools like Prometheus and Splunk, and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes Additional Company Details: At Walmart Global Tech, you will have the opportunity to work in an innovative environment where your contributions can impact millions of people.
