Staff Software Engineer- Golang- QoE Platform

Roles & Responsibilities:

• As a Staff Software Engineer here you are passionate about using software-based approaches to solve complex data-driven challenges and automate those solutions.
• Within our organization, youll lead efforts aimed at scaling our existing data offerings and establish the technical strategy for how we can better equip engineers and leaders with Data Platform.
• Youll build a deep understanding of our digital streaming service and use that knowledge, coupled with your engineering, infrastructure, data, and cloud knowledge, to optimize and evolve how we understand our technical ecosystem.
• To be successful, youll need to be deeply technical and capable of holding your own with other strong peers.
• You have experience practicing infrastructure-as-code, data streaming pipeline, data lake management, Database, Analytics and Dashboarding.
• You make good decisions and exercise accurate judgment when choosing to build new vs extending existing ones
• You provide guidance on design, coding, and operational best practices, and have a track-record of applying these best practices to software that you have worked on
• You propose and proactively seek to establish best practices where none exist
• You make high impact decisions driving, what and how software is built
• You analyze requirements, study software architectures and designs to make decisions suiting the requirements. You are often right, and you are persuasive in delivering your suggestions and ideas to your team
• You mentor junior Engineers, overseeing their designs, code quality, and integration into a team. Your success is judged as much on your own productivity as on the positive impact you have on Engineers around you
• You possess excellent collaboration and diplomacy skills.
• In addition, youll have strong systems knowledge and troubleshooting abilities.

What to Bring:

• 9-14 years, expert proficiency in Go with additional exposure to Python being a plus.
• You have architected and designed complex E2E data streaming pipeline and storage systems
• Strong experience in designing microservices, distributed systems, and asynchronous communication channels (REST, gRPC, Kafka).
• Comprehensive knowledge of full-stack application design, including UI, application logic, database layers, and caching mechanisms.
• Solid understanding of NoSQL (MongoDB preferred) and SQL (PostgreSQL preferred) for designing and managing scalable databases and data lakes.
• Experience with data modeling, database design and various SQL dialects.
• Deep expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
• Experience with alerting, metrics, and logging tools such as Prometheus, CloudWatch, Kibana.
• Familiarity with video processing stacks, including encoders, FFMPEG, and codecs.
• Experience with workflow engines like Temporal, Cadence is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to build empathetic tools and platforms.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
