Job Description

Role Overview: Zendesk is seeking a Staff Software Engineer (Frontend or Full-stack) to join the Tasks and Approvals team within the Custom Data & Logic group. As a technical leader, you will be responsible for developing new functionality to support the Employee Service initiative in Support. This is a hybrid role, requiring a combination of remote and on-site work with 3 days in the office and relocation to Pune. Key Responsibilities: - Independently lead system design, development, testing, and deployment of high-quality software solutions. - Collaborate across teams to architect reliable, secure, and scalable solutions. - Communicate technical decisions clearly and effectively. - Identify and mitigate potential issues in development stages. - Prioritize tasks to deliver high impact to users and the company. - Participate in application improvement discussions and feature design. - Review and provide feedback on pull requests. - Maintain technical documentation and participate in on-call rotations. - Promote a learning culture and mentor team members. - Conduct research to develop best practices and lead agile development ceremonies. Qualifications Required: - 10+ years of experience in designing, developing, testing, and shipping software. - 8+ years working with JavaScript/TypeScript, primarily using React. - Strong understanding of JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Redux, GraphQL, and REST APIs. - Experience with version control tools, continuous integration, and delivery pipelines. - Previous experience leading and mentoring software engineering teams. - Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills. Additional Company Details: Zendesk is establishing a Product Development Center of Excellence in Pune through a BOT model, aiming to transition all team members to full-time roles. As an early hire, you will play a key role in shaping the culture and success of the Pune site. The tech stack includes Ruby on Rails, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Redux, AWS, Spinnaker, Aurora/MySQL, and S3. Please note that candidates must be physically located and plan to work from Karnataka or Maharashtra. The hybrid role offers a rich onsite experience combined with remote work flexibility.
