Staff Nurse-Neuro OT

Key Responsibilities:Pre-Operative Duties:

• Prepare OT and surgical instruments specific to neurosurgical procedures (e.g. craniotomies, spinal surgeries).
• Ensure proper sterilization and availability of neurosurgery-specific tools and implants.
• Verify patient identity, surgical site, and consent as per protocol.
• Assist in patient positioning (prone, lateral, etc.) ensuring neurological safety.

Intra-Operative Duties:

• Assist surgeons as scrub or circulating nurse during neurosurgical operations.
• Maintain strict aseptic techniques throughout the procedure.
• Monitor and manage OT equipment like microscopes, neuronavigation systems, and C-arm.
• Maintain accurate documentation of sponge/instrument counts and intraoperative events.

Post-Operative Duties:

• Transfer patient safely to recovery/PACU with detailed handover.
• Assist in cleaning and preparing the OT for the next surgery.
• Monitor and document patient vitals and surgical outcomes as required.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong understanding of neuroanatomy and neurosurgical procedures.
• Skilled in handling OT equipment (drills, microscopes, cautery machines, etc.).
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and crisis-handling skills.
• Knowledge of infection control and patient safety protocols.
• Ability to work in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹28,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
