Job Title: Staff Nurse (OPD & OT)

Reporting To: Nursing In-Charge / Centre Head

Job Summary:

The Staff Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care and ensuring high standards of patient care in both the Outpatient Department (OPD) and Operation Theatre (OT) of the Fertility Centre. The role involves assisting in consultations, procedures, patient education, and ensuring aseptic practices during surgeries and IVF-related procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

In OPD:

• Assist doctors during patient consultations and minor procedures.
• Prepare patients for examination and maintain proper documentation.
• Administer prescribed medications and injections as per orders.
• Maintain patient records, treatment charts, and follow-up details.
• Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure instructions.
• Ensure OPD cleanliness, stock maintenance, and readiness for daily operations.

In Operation Theatre (OT):

• Prepare OT for procedures and ensure all equipment and instruments are sterilized.
• Assist the surgeon during IVF, egg retrieval, embryo transfer, laparoscopy, and other fertility-related surgeries.
• Monitor patients’ vitals before, during, and after the procedure.
• Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
• Handle instruments and OT supplies efficiently and ensure proper stock maintenance.
• Coordinate with anesthetist and embryologist as required.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of nursing protocols in fertility and reproductive health.
• Excellent communication and patient-handling skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in both OPD and OT settings.
• Good understanding of infection control and sterilization techniques
• Team player with a compassionate and professional attitude.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Qualification: B.Sc Nursing / GNM (with valid Nursing Registration).
• Experience: Minimum 1–2 years in a fertility centre or hospital setup (exposure to OT preferred).
