Sr.Staff Engineer Mechanical

• Designing(70%) testing (30%)ofnew components and products, sometimes as sole contributor but often as part of a team of contributors.
• Manage assigned mechanical design projects, adhering to project timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards.
• Perform day-to-day CAD (3D 2D) activities anddocumentation.
• Conductperiodicdesign review withmechanical teamscross functionalteams.
• Reviewing and analyzing solutions to achieve the best outcome for performance/cost/schedule
• Product testing (DVT)Testing proof-of-concepts and prototypes for performance
• Failure analysis and root cause identification
• Componentreview and approval, including global travel to be on-site at vendors during pre- production stage.
• Generating own (and reviewing others ) documentation, including concept proposals, analysis reports,componentspecifications, review minutes
• Ensure quality by design.
• Product testing (DVT)Testing proof-of-concepts and prototypes for performance
• Design and execute comprehensive test plans(Inhouse and external lab)to verify mechanical performance against design specifications, including static and dynamic loading, fatigue testing, environmental testing, and reliability testing.
• Analyze test data,identifypotential issues, and implement design improvements to address any deficiencies.

Who you are and what you bring:

• Bachelors Degree (or higher qualification) in Mechanical Engineering
• 12+years (with BE / BS) or8+ years (with Masters)ofindustry work experience in product design development.
• Hands-onexperience in Designing electromechanical products
• Good exposureonUL/IEC and related standards. Experience on UL1741, IL9540, UL 9540Awill be an added advantage
• Experience in testing below international standards is desirable(butnot limited to).
• Inverters UL 1741, Electrical connectors UL 6703, UL 9703, EN 60512, EN 60352; Polymers UL 94, UL 746C.
• Ingress protection IEC 60529/IPXX/NEMA Enclosure standards
• Hands on is preparingmechanical mock-ups, Prototypes, Electro-mechanical assemblies, Cable
• Good Exposure on plastics, Sheetmetal, casting part design and manufacturing process
• Good understandingoncable assemblies, ECAD/MCAD integrations
• Good exposure on structural and thermal design considerations
• Good Exposure on DFX for high volume production
• Good exposureonprototype techniques for Design development and verification
• Expertisein SolidWorks and EPDM. Knowledgeonany other CAD packages will be an added advantage.
• ExposureonCAE tools is an added advantage.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) of parts made through injectionmoulding, sheet metal, stamping, milling/turning
• Experience using Computer-Aided development tools (SolidWorks)
• Clear communication - verbal and written
• Experience in the design and sustaining activities on high-volume products (+500k pa) would be a plusand alsopreviousemployment in high-power and consumer products industries would be a plus.
