Experience:

SRE Observability Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Build and manage

  end-to-end observability stacks

  (Monitoring, Logging, Tracing).
• Own and enhance enterprise monitoring platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, New Relic, Splunk, etc.).
  
• Create and tune

  alerts, dashboards, SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets

  .
• Implement distributed tracing frameworks (OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, Zipkin).
  
• Drive improvements in system performance, uptime, and reliability through SRE best practices.
  
• Work with engineering teams to instrument applications for metrics, logs & traces.
  
• Automate routine operational tasks using scripts (Python / Shell).
  
• Manage cloud infrastructure observability (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA), incident reviews, and postmortems.
  
• Create runbooks, documentation, and observability standards.
  
• Continuously evaluate new monitoring tools and observability enhancements.
  

Required Technical Skills

• Strong experience with

  Observability Tools

• Prometheus, Grafana
  
• ELK / EFK
  
• Datadog / New Relic / Splunk / Dynatrace (any enterprise tool)
  
• OpenTelemetry
  
• Deep knowledge of

  SLI/SLO/SLA frameworks & error budgets

• Strong understanding of

  distributed systems, microservices, cloud-native architecture

• Expertise with

  Linux

  , networking basics, system diagnostics
• Hands-on with

  CI/CD pipelines

  , Infra automation
• Scripting using

  Python / Shell / Bash

• Cloud Monitoring (AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, GCP Operations Suite)
  

Good to Have

• Kubernetes monitoring (kube-state-metrics, Prometheus Operator, Lens)
  
• Experience with service meshes (Istio, Linkerd)
  
• Chaos engineering exposure
  
• Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Helm, Ansible)
