Role Overview: The Growth/CRM Engineering Team at Uber's Growth & Marketing Platform is responsible for developing Uber's marketing technology and growth infrastructure, including platforms for marketing automation, segmentation, personalization, experimentation, content creation, digital assets management, and GenAI-powered marketing. The Bangalore (BLR) site is crucial in this mission, with various engineering teams focused on advancing AI-powered marketing innovation, enhancing creative effectiveness, measuring and improving marketing experience performance, supporting marketing and brand operations, and enabling seamless integration across Uber-wide systems and tools. They are seeking a highly experienced Senior Staff Engineer to take on a site-wide architect role for the BLR Growth/CRM Eng teams, with a focus on technical leadership and scalable, intelligent systems. Key Responsibilities: - Architectural Leadership & Technical Stewardship: - Define the long-term architectural vision and technical strategy for the BLR Growth/CRM teams to ensure scalability, maintainability, and innovation. - GenAI Vision & Implementation: - Lead the technical direction of GenAI-powered marketing solutions and drive AI system design, implementation, and deployment in production environments. - Cross-Team Initiatives: - Identify and drive technical projects spanning multiple teams to enhance collaboration and impact across the BLR site. - Industry Awareness: - Stay updated on emerging technology trends, especially in GenAI and growth infrastructure, to apply relevant innovations to the team's roadmap. - Site Enrichment: - Propose and lead initiatives to expand the influence of the BLR engineering site within Uber's global Growth & Marketing Platform org. Qualifications Required: - Basic Qualifications: - 12+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on system architecture and scalable distributed systems. - Experience in driving large-scale platform designs and cross-functional technical strategies. - Strong background in backend development, APIs, and platform engineering. - Passion for GenAI technologies and a desire to lead teams in innovating at the frontier of AI-powered marketing. - Practical experience in applying GenAI or ML/AI in production environments. - Excellent technical communication and mentorship skills with the ability to influence multiple teams and stakeholders. - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Preferred Qualifications: - Hands-on experience with GenAI technologies like LLM-based content generation, semantic search, vector stores, or RAG-based systems. - Exposure to experimentation platforms and reinforcement learning techniques. - Previous experience working in a globally distributed team with a strong site-leadership presence.,
