As a Senior Software Engineer at Assurant, GCC-India, your role involves collaborating with international clients, business partners, architects, engineers, and IT groups to design and engineer technical solutions for desired capabilities. Your key responsibilities include: - Participating and contributing to the design and build phases of projects - Communicating frequently with lead engineers and management on project status and issues - Following methodology and development process standards set by the Architects - Learning new technologies as required for the project - Participating in design reviews and software reviews for consistency with best practices - Finding solutions to problems, documenting procedures, and mentoring junior staff - Collaborating with lead engineers and architects to design appropriate solutions using architectural guidelines - Performing technical evaluations of vendor packages - Collaborating on the selection and use of new technology for projects - Ensuring the final build adheres to approved design and meets user requirements - Analyzing conditions to minimize implementation risk and improve system reliability - Participating in integrations of components and systems - Attending team scrum meetings and demonstrating potential for leadership - Conducting interviews for new project candidates - Accommodating other projects and assignments as needed. Qualifications required for this position include: - Completion of a BS degree in MIS, CS, or Technical Certification, and/or 5-10 years of experience (MS preferred) - Application-specific certifications are considered a plus - Excellent written communication skills - Strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum practices - Broad knowledge of web applications, infrastructure, and distributed systems - Experience with Microservices design, cloud application design patterns, and application architecture - Ability to influence others, manage conflict, and interact well with individuals throughout the organizational hierarchy. In terms of technology expertise, you should have: - Broad knowledge and experience in distributed technologies including Visual Studio .NET, C#.NET, AJAX, XML, IIS, and more - Proficiency with source control tools, reporting tools, and database technologies like Oracle and SQL Server - Familiarity with CodeSmith code generator, Web Services, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Angular, SonarQube, Service Fabric, and others. Preferred experience, skills, and knowledge for this position include: - Experience in administrating geographically dispersed systems - Minimum of 7 years of experience in technology services - Minimum of 4 years of related hardware/software and system technologies - Multi-lingual abilities are considered a plus.
