The Sr. Software Engineer position at Assurant, GCC-India involves collaborating with international clients, business partners, architects, engineers, and IT groups to design and engineer technical solutions for desired capabilities. Your key responsibilities will include participating in design and build phases of projects, communicating with lead engineers and management on project status, following methodology and development standards set by Architects, learning new technologies as required, and participating in design reviews. You will also be involved in software reviews, problem-solving, mentoring junior staff, collaborating with the Lead Engineer and Architects, and contributing to technical evaluations of vendor packages. Additionally, you will work on selecting and using new technology, ensuring final builds adhere to approved designs, analyzing conditions to minimize implementation risk, participating in components and systems integrations, attending team scrum meetings, demonstrating leadership potential, and conducting interviews for new project candidates. You may also be assigned other projects and tasks to meet changing departmental and company needs. To qualify for this role, you should have a BS degree in MIS, CS, or relevant technical certification, along with 5-10 years of experience (MS preferred). Application-specific certifications are a plus, and you should possess excellent written communication skills, strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum practices, web applications, distributed systems, Microservices design, cloud application design patterns, and application architecture. Experience with technologies such as Visual Studio .NET, C#.NET, AJAX, XML, IIS, CodeSmith code generator, Web Services, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, SonarQube, Azure, Oracle, and SQL Server is required. Preferred qualifications include experience in administrating geographically dispersed systems, at least 7 years of technology services related work experience, multi-lingual skills, and proficiency with Oracle.
