Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer at Schneider Electric, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our products by developing and executing effective quality assurance processes and procedures. Your responsibilities will include test planning and design, test execution, test automation, performance testing, security testing, mentorship, defect analysis, risk management, continuous improvement, and collaboration with various teams. In terms of test planning and design, you will be expected to develop comprehensive test plans and strategies, ensure test setup readiness, identify test data requirements, and review test cases to ensure coverage as per the test strategy. You will also be responsible for executing both manual and automated tests to verify software functionality, performance, and usability, as well as logging and tracking defects using tools like Jira. Furthermore, you will need to have expertise in test automation, as you will be required to develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Cucumber, Selenium, TestNG, or Test Complete. Automating regression testing to improve efficiency and reduce testing time will also be a part of your responsibilities. Performance testing and security testing will also be crucial aspects of your role, where you will conduct performance testing to identify bottlenecks and analyze performance metrics, as well as perform security testing to identify vulnerabilities and work with security teams to address any issues. Mentorship is another key responsibility, where you will provide guidance to junior QA engineers, share best practices, and foster a culture of quality within the team. You will also support in defect analysis, risk management, continuous improvement, and collaboration with development teams, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and understanding of testing requirements. To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, along with 5-8 years of relevant experience. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, test automation tools, software testing techniques, problem-solving skills, and good communication skills are also essential. Experience with API testing, performance testing tools, scripting languages, quality assurance certifications, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems will be advantageous.
