The Senior Manager, Microsoft Azure & Identity Platforms will lead the design, implementation, and management of the company's hybrid cloud infrastructure, focusing specifically on Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory environments. This role requires a blend of deep technical knowledge and strong leadership skills to manage a high-performing team, define strategic roadmaps, ensure compliance with security standards, and collaborate with C-level executives and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for Microsoft Azure, Active Directory (on-prem and Azure AD/Entra ID), and M365 platforms, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and administrators, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and technical leadership on cloud and identity management best practices to internal stakeholders.
Platform Management & Operations:
- Oversee the day-to-day administration, health, performance, and troubleshooting of the Azure, M365, and Active Directory environments.
- Ensure system reliability and availability, managing incident response, problem management, and implementing preventive measures.
- Drive automation and process efficiencies using scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI) and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Manage user lifecycle, licensing, permissions, and access policies across all platforms.
Security & Compliance:
- Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to implement data governance, data loss prevention (DLP), and information protection policies using Microsoft Purview and Defender suites.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA) and conduct regular security assessments.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Experience:
- 10+ years of overall IT experience, with significant experience in a leadership or management role.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing, supporting, and managing Microsoft Azure and M365 environments.
- Expertise in both on-premises Active Directory and Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), including hybrid configurations (Azure AD Connect, ADFS).
- Proven experience leading large-scale projects, such as cloud migrations, upgrades, and security enhancements.
Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of IAM principles and related protocols (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect).
- Proficiency in PowerShell and other automation tools.
- Strong knowledge of networking, security, and cloud infrastructure concepts (VPN, ExpressRoute, DNS, firewalls, etc.).
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, or Security, Compliance, and Identity certifications) are highly desirable.
Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to a variety of audiences, including C-level executives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives and manage multiple projects concurrently.
