Job Description

Strategic Procurement & Cost Management Develop and implement procurement strategies for packaging materials. Monitor market trends and negotiate contracts to optimize costs. Track commodity prices (polymer, steel, paper & wood) and make informed purchasing decisions. Supplier Management & Vendor Development Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers while maintaining relationships with existing ones. Conduct vendor / supplier audits and ensure compliance with quality standards. Negotiate contracts for packaging materials such as paper, metal and wood. Inventory & Supply Chain Optimization Maintain optimal stock levels and reorder points using BI tools. Ensure smooth functioning of SAP and other procurement databases. Address inventory management issues at production plants. Quality Assurance & Compliance Ensure packaging materials meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. Work closely with marketing and production teams for packaging development. Conduct periodic reviews of rates and quality across different locations. Collaboration & Reporting Coordinate with finance, operations, and marketing teams for procurement planning. Prepare quarterly and yearly reports on procurement performance. Present cost-saving initiatives and value engineering strategies. Supplier Relationship & Contract Management Supplier Negotiations & Contracting : Negotiate contracts and agreements with packaging suppliers to achieve optimal pricing, terms, and conditions. Supplier Performance Management : Establish and maintain a spend management system for the categories in scope, including spend analysis, contract terms and obligations analysis/tracker, and supplier performance management. Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) : Develop and deploy SRM frameworks to enhance supplier performance, innovation, and sustainability. Team Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration Team Management : Lead and manage a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure successful execution of strategies and projects. Cross-functional Collaboration : Collaborate with internal departments such as Sales & Marketing, Engineering, Finance, and Quality to understand and support business strategy and priorities. Stakeholder Engagement : Act as a trusted advisor, partnering with stakeholders to expand the proposition and drive procurement transformation.
