Sr . Linux Server Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

• Server Management:

  Manage and maintain Linux servers, ensuring security, availability, and performance.

• System Administration:

  Perform system configuration, software installation, updates, and patch management.

• Security:

  Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection, and access controls.

• Performance Optimization:

  Monitor server performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.

• Backup and Recovery:

  Set up and manage server backups and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity.

• Troubleshooting:

  Investigate and resolve server-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed.

• User Management:

  Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls on Linux servers.

• Compliance:

  Ensure server configurations and practices adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

• Documentation:

  Maintain accurate documentation of server configurations, procedures, and best practices.

• Automation:

  Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline server administration tasks.

• Technical Leadership:

  Provide guidance and mentorship to junior administrators, sharing best practices and technical knowledge.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred)
• Proven experience as a Linux Server Administrator, with expertise in managing Linux-based server environments
• Proficiency in Linux server administration (CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat)
• Strong knowledge of server security best practices and experience with security tools
• Scripting skills (Bash, Python) for automation tasks
• Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies (VMware, Docker) is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Relevant certifications (Linux Professional Institute Certification, Red Hat Certified Engineer) are a plus
