Position Overview

The Purchase Engineer is responsible for overseeing day-to-day purchasing of parts and materials, ensuring on-time delivery (OTD) for production. The role involves raising and tracking purchase orders, coordinating with vendors, managing supply needs, and providing purchase-related MIS reports to support production and shop floor operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage

  daily purchasing of parts and consumables

  to meet production requirements.

• Raise Purchase Orders (POs)

  , route for approvals, and ensure timely release.
• Ensure

  On-Time Delivery (OTD)

  of materials for smooth production flow.
• Coordinate with the

  Shop Floor Incharge

  on material availability and urgent requirements.
• Track supplier commitments, monitor deliveries, and resolve issues related to delays, shortages, or discrepancies.
• Balance

  short-term and long-term supply needs

  based on inventory and production planning.
• Collaborate with vendors to maintain consistent supply and address quality/documentation concerns.
• Prepare and maintain

  MIS reports related to purchase activities

  , including order status, supplier performance, and cost analysis.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and communication logs.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Commerce, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management.
• 7-8 years of relevant experience in purchasing/procurement (manufacturing industry preferred).
