Sr. Design Engineer (Electrical_3D Substation a Switchyard Modeling)

Role Purpose

The Sr. Design Engineer Electrical (3D Modeling) is exclusively responsible for preparing, modifying, and maintaining constructible 3D models of AIS/GIS substations and switchyards using Bentley Open Utilities Substation (OUS) and Revit.

These 3D models will be directly used for:

• Pre-bid engineering and tender submissions
  
• Detailed engineering and construction execution
  
• Site coordination and clash resolution
  

Accuracy, CBIP compliance, electrical clearances, and construction feasibility are non-negotiable outputs of this role.

Responsibilities

3D Substation & Switchyard Modeling (Core Responsibility)

• Prepare complete 3D models of AIS / GIS substations and switchyards in Bentley OUS

• Model:
• Primary electrical equipment (CT, PT, CB, Isolators, LA, Bus structures)
• Equipment foundations and support structures (coordination level)
• Bus bar routing, conductor connections, and phase segregation
  
• Ensure minimum electrical clearances are maintained as per CBIP guidelines
  
• Develop multiple layout options during pre-bid stage as required by bid strategy
  

Pre-Bid Engineering Support (Critical Deliverable)

• Prepare tender-ready 3D layouts within strict bid timelines
  
• Incorporate:
• Plot plan constraints
• Voltage levelwise segregation
• Expandability provisions
  
• Revise layouts rapidly based on bid team and management inputs
  
• Ensure models are presentable, accurate, and technically defensible during client discussions
  

Construction & Execution Support

• Update 3D models based on:
• Approved drawings
• Site conditions
• Client / PMC comments
  
• Support construction teams by:
• Clarifying equipment locations
• Identifying clashes before site execution
• Issuing revised models and layouts for construction use
  
• Ensure as-built 3D models reflect actual site execution
  

Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with:
• Project Manager
• Electrical design engineers
• Civil & structural teams (for foundation and structure alignment)
  
• Communicate design intent clearly through 3D visualization and walkthroughs
  
• Close all design comments within agreed timelines
  

Mandatory Technical Skill Requirements

• Substation & switchyard layout engineering (AIS / GIS)
• Practical understanding of CBIP guidelines and electrical clearances
• Hands-on experience with Bentley Open Utilities Substation (OUS) / Revit / Audotcad 3D
  
• Ability to read and interpret:
• Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
• GA drawings
• Technical specifications
